Saint Liborius

Bishop and Confessor

On July 23rd is also commemorated the holy Bishop of Le Mans in Gaul, blessed Liborius, who was the friend of holy Martin of Tours, and was distinguished for learning and virtue, and for his wondrous pastoral care, especially of the poor, and who went to God about the year 396.

Collect

GRANT, we beseech thee, Almighty God: that the devout observance of this festival of blessed Liborius, thy Confessor and Bishop, may be profitable unto us for our advancement in all godliness, and for the attainment of everlasting salvation. Through the same our Lord Jesus Christ, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the same Spirit ever, one God, world without end. Amen.
